I've been trying for years to get a website up that incorporates everything I love about TV, Movies & Soaps and I'm attempting to do this through WEBNODE - I don't know how long it will last but I'm trying to see how it is that I can express my personal views on so many of the things I love about ROMANCE.
A TV Series is always good when there is a good romance going on and we can try and say it is all about the writing and in some cases it is but mainly it's due to the stars and whether they have chemistry.
So many shows we have been watching for years took forever to get a couple together - if at all. BONES is a perfect one to relate to. How long do we have to wait for Temperence & Seeley to get together. They say it's the Moonlight Curse but pelease - this show went down hill when the writing was less than satisfying and sure they were better when the "angst" was there but how about Hart to Hart or the movies The Thin Man where the relationships worked for the better? Bones is a clear example of a show going on a couple of seasons too long. They should have quit while they were ahead. This is the 6th season and I haven't watched an episode in full. I'm over it! I haven't ever stopped watching a show cold turkey before but it's been theraputic.
Sure there are teething problems but so are all relationships.
Castle is my flavour of the month and I believe there is a great opportunity for these two to find a happy medium - he does afterall drive everyone crazy and not just Beckett.
Some shows are written well to begin with - HAVEN, COVERT AFFAIRS and THE GLADES - all seasons made in smaller quantities and leaving us up in the air leaving us wanting more. Executives should see this and listen to the fans. Alot more smaller shows with less episodes might be the way to go, after all, United Kingdom have been doing it for years - PRIMEVAL, AS TIME GOES BY, MERLIN etc - America won't buy a show from the United Kingdom unless it had at least 20 episodes so they put two seasons together and sell it in this format.
TV Shows, Movies & Soaps all have to realise they have to keep their fans guessing but also make sure that we're not guessing forever afterall they will go through the curse of a show running it's course by going too long, Buffy & Angel being a point in fact. Even now Supernatural is getting to that point for me. They stopped showing the 5th season in Australia so when it finally came back on TV I waited for the series to come out on DVD and frankly I still haven't watched - preferring to realise that it was only supposed to be on for 5 seasons but executives got greedy and wanted more money so they got it more air time.
Join me and realise that we have the power to enjoy a show and not have the reality of executives telling us what to do, afterall, we could go one step further and write the ending the show deserves. Don't be held back by the fact that the show is no longer on the air - the ending was crap and you could do better - write your own ending - they may be watching.
